Our Capabilities

Die Cutting

Our fabrication facility is uniquely outfitted to custom die cut parts from a wide variety of adhesive tapes, foams, and other specialty materials. Virtually any thin PSA tape, foam, rubber, gasket or insulation material can be die cut into complex shapes, resulting in a final part that perfectly fits your application. We custom cut parts that meet a full range of requirements, including individual die cut parts, parts kiss cut on pads or rolls, parts with tabbed liners, and so much more.

— ROTARY DIE CUTTING

A cost-effective, efficient, and repeatable method for high volume tape and foam fabrication

Think of rotary die cutting as a machine that processes webbed material through a metal cylinder with part shapes precision machined into it. That metal cylinder, known as a rotary die, rotates against another metal cylinder. The web of material that is fed through these rotating cylinders is precision cut. Each cycle the die makes results in custom cut parts.

While rotary die cutting requires higher initial cost to get tooling created, once it’s done, it quickly becomes a very efficient, high-volume way to precisely cut and kiss adhesive tapes, foams, and other materials. Part tolerances can be within microns, and the speed at which parts are created is unbeatable because the machine rarely needs to stop. Best of all, since it is performed on multi-station, reel to reel machinery, multiple material layers, kiss slits, multiple dies, and liner tabs may be added.

— TRAVELING HEAD DIE CUTTING

A powerful and versatile fabrication technique for medium to high production runs.

Travelling head die cutting machines use powerful and versatile flatbed cutting tools that travel over a wide material web. The cutting tool can be positioned over any part of the material before making precise cuts that are highly repeatable. The cutting tools are interchangeable and customizable, allowing for complex shapes to be cut efficiently.

This cutting process is ideal for medium to high production runs that involve complex or intricate cuts. The machines can easily cut through a wide range of materials with little material waste.

— INLINE PRECISION FLATBED DIE CUTTING

Highly economical and often the best choice for thick materials or simple shapes.

In line flatbed die cutting utilizes a press-based part stamping mechanism coupled with a reel to reel unwind and rewind to punch out shapes from thicker foams, PSAs, or virtually any other material. Its precise stamping mechanism allows parts to be kiss cut onto a thin release liner with the weed removed and unwanted holes punched out.

While it's highly repeatable, it can be more economical to use precision flatbed die cutting for adhesive tapes and foams when volumes are lower. This is because of the slower speed, less waste, and lower tooling costs compared to rotary die cutting.

— WIDE FORMAT DIE CUTTING

The most efficient way to fabricate complex large-scale parts.

Wide format die cutting operates with the same efficiency, precision, and speed as standard die cutting, only on a much larger scale. If you need a high number of larger than average parts for your application, this die cutting method can get you the parts you need in a cost-effective way.

Our wide format die cutting machines can handle large-scale die cut parts up to 62” in size. This is ideal for large and irregularly shaped gaskets, insulation parts, and custom adhesives tape parts for the automotive, aerospace, and other industries that deal in larger products.
