3M 398FR

3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 398FR/FRP

3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 398FR/FRP features an acrylic adhesive for high-adhesion applications, an abrasion-resistant backing, and flame-retardant properties. It's typically used to seal aircraft cargo bay panels, providing a permanent seal. The tape meets the flame-retardancy requirements of FAR 25.853 and FAR 25.855. It also meets the requirements of and can be qualified to Boeing material specification BMS 5-146 Type I, Class I, Grade A. The acrylic adhesive has excellent long-term aging properties, making it ideal for many permanent applications.

Applications include: Sealing thermal and acoustic insulation panels where high adhesion and flame retardancy are required; aircraft window sealing; duct sealing and seat repair; protection of wire harnesses, electrical cables, or hoses from temperature extremes and abrasion; marine applications; and general industrial uses
