3M™ Polyethylene Tape 483

3M™ Polyethylene Tape 483 is a polyethylene-backed, rubber-adhesive tape built for general-purpose work: sealing, color coding, protecting, and moisture proofing. The backing stretches easily and is highly conformable, providing a tight seal around irregular surfaces. Its low chloride and halogen content makes it suitable for nuclear power plant construction and maintenance and for corrosion-sensitive applications. Vivid, glossy color options make it equally useful for decorative and safety marking and color coding. It remains flexible down to -20°F (-29°C), and black tape offers excellent U.V. resistance for up to 12 months outdoors. Best results come from applying it to a clean, dry surface between 60°F and 80°F (16°C to 27°C).

Applications include: General sealing of containers and irregularly shaped objects, electroplating and PC board masking, silicone chip holding, decorative and safety marking and color coding, nuclear power plant construction and maintenance, corrosion-sensitive applications, outdoor sealing, and protecting and preserving (black only)
