3M™ PTFE Extruded Film Tapes 5490 delivers outstanding low coefficient of friction properties and its silicone PSA allows for exceptional heat resistance up to 500°F. With low friction and a smooth PTFE surface, this tape excels in heat-sealing applications and surfaces needing reliable release, including industrial and food processing equipment. It offers standard strength compared to 5491 which has an enhanced adhesive for challenging surfaces, making these tapes adaptable for diverse and rigorous environments.
Applications include: Heat sealing, non-stick covering for hot presses, chute lining, and surface protection.
