3M™ UHMW Polyethylene Tape 5430
3M™ UHMW Polyethylene Tape 5430 pairs a thick caliper UHMW polyethylene backing with a high-tack acrylic adhesive, built for the automotive industry to help control squeaks and rattles caused by vibration or wear in metal and plastic parts. It showed no evidence of wear-through after 1000 cycles of Taber Abrasion testing and can be used where lubrication isn't possible because of contamination.
Applications include: Automotive instrument panel and interior noise reduction, noise reduction between the rim fascia and painted metal, noise reduction on doors, reducing squeaks and rattles caused by movement, and industrial sliding or wear applications requiring very high adhesion.
- Low water vapor transmission rate
- Outstanding abrasion resistance, outwears PTFE and other materials in sliding applications
- Low coefficient of friction, exceeded only by PTFE
- Liner-backed for easy fabrication or die-cutting into various lengths and shapes
