LSE Series – Low Surface Energy Materials

1. Surface Energy

Materials with high surface energy (like glass, stainless steel, and aluminum) are easier to bond. For these, use tapes from the 4950 or 4941 series. For low surface energy plastics (like polypropylene or TPO), you'll need specialized adhesives from the 5952 or LSE series. 

2. Substrate Material

Determine whether you’re bonding metal, glass, plastic, or composite, and whether the surface is painted, powder-coated, or textured. VHB tapes come with different levels of conformability and adhesive chemistry tailored to these materials. 

3. Environmental Exposure

If your application involves outdoor use, UV exposure, high humidity, or chemical resistance, opt for VHB tapes with proven durability, like the 4941, 5952, or GPH series. For transparent outdoor bonding, the 4910 series is a solid choice.
