Saint-Gobain® Norseal® TRP Series Silicone Foam
Saint-Gobain® Norseal® TRP Series is a soft compressible silicone foam designed to protect against a thermal runaway event common in battery packs. It protects adjacent cells to help avoid exothermic propagation. Throughout the battery life it reliably retains a specified range of compression and its ability to provide thermal cushioning provides the critical protection required to avoid an uncontrolled exothermic event.
Applications include: Compression pads, cushioning pads, and between module pads in battery packs
- Resists thermal runaway events by protecting adjacent cells
- Predictable and long-lasting compression force deflection across a wide temperature range
- Low compression set
- Electrical Properties: Dielectric strength 85 V/mil; volume resistivity 10¹⁴ ohm-cm
- Available in thicknesses from 0.078 in to 0.188 in
